LOSE YOU TO LOVE ME REASEARCH

These are the chords I used to learn this song. I think it will be easier to memorize chord progressions and get a consistent improvisation of every song than memorize hundreds of pages of sheet music.
I listened to this piano cover I the acoustic version of love you to love me to replicate it in my own cover and give me an idea of what I should play.
ALWAYS REMEMER US THIS WAY

These are the chords I used to learn the song. it is in the key of A minor, this is because the song starts in Am although the song modulates in the ridge y playing a B flat major chord this changes the key of the song to F major. the song then moves into C major for the second chorus, you could argue that this happens in the first chorus but because a minor and major are the relative key signature it really doesn't matter. The reason why it is in C major in the second chorus is because the song ends on a C major chord.
The piano track in the original song sounds improvised, because of this I listened to the song a tried to replicate it, but because I am not as good of a pianist as the one who played this song I want able to play it to the same standard.
EFFIN PERFECT

This is a very simple song repeating 4 chords on repeat and playing them most of the time 4 on the floor. I used the original song to figure out what to play.
BALLOON RANGER
The chords on this song are in the key of G major. most of the chords used are the 3rd and the 5th. B major and E minor. The bridge stays in the key signature but plays the 1st, 2nd and 3rd chords up an octave.
This song is really easy and I'll learn it by ear
SEPRATE WAYS

This song is pretty straight forward. It is in the key of G and plays the 1st, 2nd and 3rd chords most commonly. in the chorus there is some modulation in moving from the D major chord into a D # minor chord. This chord is taken from the D# minor scale/key it is also in the key of A# minor.
I listened to the song and played the synth section with the piano. I will learn the synth riffs y ear once I've memorized al of the chords in the song.
ROLLING IN THE DEEP

This song is played in the key of C minor. the piano in the song is played in legato(smooth) or the verses and per chorus but for the chorus it is played staccato(jumpy). the only differ in the key signature is when the g Minor chord is modulate into a G major chord before the chorus this is using technique where the 5th chord in the key is change into its relative chord.
DARK RED
Because I am the lead singer in this song I didn't need to look at the chords and I didn't see the need to look at the vocal sheet music. Instead I will listen to the song and sing to it multiple times. I will also listen to the isolated vocals to know my parts better.
GIVE ME LOVE

the original song is in the key of c#. This version is in G major with the capo on the first fret to fit my vocals better. It doesn't leave its key signature thought the song. the strumming pater goes D DUDU Once for each chord during the verse and for the post chorus the drumming pattern is played DDDD palm muted.
GONE GONE GONE
The original key f this song is f#. But for me to sing it comfortably I will transpose it to the key of C with the capo on the 2nd fret.
TO MAKE YOU FEEL MY LOVE

The chords in this song stay in its original key with 2 7th chords (A7 and D7). The piano I this song is also improvised so I will try to replicate this again when I am rehearsing
BREAK ON THROUGH

This song by the doors consists of 2 chords this is so they can improvise over the song as a band and make it sound good. the organist is playing the base line and soloing at the same time. I've tried doing this and it is to hard so I will play a simpler base line. I will also need to learn how to solo on keys.
From these videos I learn that the pentatonic scale is a good way to solo. I also learnt that playing block chords in the higher octaves is a good way to solo.
WARM UP ROUTINE
I start with scales, arpeggios progressing in different key signatures and inversions to warm up. I play all of these in different ways to spice up the warm up. I play the whole thing with a click starting with 70 bpm progressing to 90-100
HOME PRACTICING
December 5th 2022
December 6th
December 12
January 5th
Febuary 10th
In his video i played Gve me love ina talent show for a youth club. This was to rehrse for the live performance. I chose this song to play becaue I have never played he guitar on stage before so this was a good way to practice.
COLLAGE REHERSALS
THE FOLLOWING VIDEOS ARE FROM OUR FIRST ON STAGE RUN THROUGH :
LOSE YOU TO LOVE ME
Because Kacey wasn't in for half of the run through we weren't able to perform her songs lose you to love me was one of them. This is a video of one of the rehearsals. when I was playing this I noticed that the piano was improving quite a lot. It is tough to listen to a song that is led by the vocals and the baking track being played by strings and translating that onto piano. I think that I played the backing track on the piano well considering it is my own cover.
ALWAYS MEMBER US THIS WAY
Similarly to lose you to love me I struggled to play a whole backing track including multiple instruments. In my opinion, I think I was able to play a decent cover that was accurate to the song. There was a slight lack of communication between me ad the singer which slightly messed up some cues in different sections. I also struggled to play across the whole piano (playing in different octaves)
DARK RED
In my opinion, this take was really tight. I had a good stage presence and communicated with the drummer Ethan leading the band. There were some issues with the singer o the right knowing their cue to do the backing vocals. We will keep practicing this song to make it slightly tighter and remember how to play it.
PERFECT
This song is really tight I was communicating with the drummer Zack going into the different sections. Me and the bassist Max were communicating well through the song and stayed on time with the drummer. There was one section where Max didn't hold a C chord and went slightly out but came back in time with the piano and drums.
BALLOON RANGER
The instrumental in this song is really good. there is good communication between me and the electric guitarist Ethan but the basest and acoustic guitarist struggled to communicate missing some cues into the sections. The other issue was the singer was to quiet singing into the mic so the mixer had to be turned up quite high which cause some feedback sometimes.
SEPARETE WAYS
This was a song that Kacey was on but wasn't here to sing. In my opinion, we started rehearsing this and it wasn't too good but towards the end, it was getting tighter. This is because we got used to playing with each other.
ROLLING IN THE DEEP
In my opinion, this song is really good. the only issue I have with it is the drums. This song is quite challenging for the drummer which isn't a problem it just needs to be simplified. You can hear the drummer miss the crash its into the different sections. The rest of the instruments are tight and are communicating to keep in time with the drums going out.
GIVE ME LOVE
In my opinion, this song is really good. the strings on the keyboard are mixing well with the guitar. I would say the drums aren't doing enough and are slightly out of time. I had to look ack to see when he was coming in on some of the sections to start playing when he did so the song sounded good. The vocals were slightly off in some areas but nothing majorly wrong, with a vocal warm up I think I'll be able to sing this song well for the gig
GONE GONE GONE
The vocals and guitar in this song were really good and tight. There was good communication between me the singer and Jayden the guitarist. The drums were slightly out again.
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
This song was quite wrong. I couldn't get the piano part down and struggled to find the right chords. The bassist was also playing the wrong roles. With more practice with my tutor showing me the chords, I can play this song on the night. I will need to rehearse this more though.
HURT
This song was ok. The main problem wasn't paying the right notes but the dynamics. If I practice with the band more we will be able to make this song big and epic to create the emotional feeling that I needs without the right dynamics the song sounds flat and empty.
HOUSE OF GOLD
During this song, I struggled to keep in time with the uke because of the syncopated rhythms once the drums came in though I was fine. I also messed up some of the chords because I was playing fast arpeggios in the left hand. With more practice, I'll be able to play the chords easily and on time.
